Working from Home

Welcome to your FREE WorkSmart Employee Hybrid Training for employees, and Managers, engaged in or interested in working from home.
There are five short modules that will give you an understanding of various hybrid working scenarios and information to help you determine if hybrid work is right for you.
These five modules are designed to improve the knowledge base for Employees to determine how to be successful at hybrid work.
Hybrid work is some combination of on-site/office in-person work and work from a remote location. The work tends to be computer and/or phone based.
Generally, the remote work is done at the employee's home or a nearby coffee shop as opposed to service work done through a mobile van or other employer owned vehicle. Salespeople often work in a hybrid environment whereby they only go into an office for scheduled meetings. Some hybrid workers have the freedom to set their own hours and are assessed by performance more than by attendance.
Fulltime remote workers do not usually go into an office to perform their work tasks.
An example of a full-time work from home employee might be a telemarketer that connects through their employer's computer system but do all their work from home or another fully remote location. Many writers are full-time work from home employees or freelance contract writers.
True hybrid workers are usually performing tasks that can be accomplished in a business office or accomplished from a remote location. The work tends to be portable and where the work is performed is usually not important. Part of the responsibilities of the worker may be to spend some designated time at the office for meetings, trainings, and socialization with peers.
Often hybrid workers share in-office workspaces and may only have a locker to store personal items. For many hybrid workers their supervisors are also hybrid workers and sometimes the required in-office time is for the hybrid supervisors to meet with their workers. Full time work from home employees that only rarely come to the office for special reasons are not really considered hybrid since there is no set time or required time for them to be in the office.
